SynthMark XP features 24 unique benchmarks, running under either Synthetic (software) or Real-time (hardware) modes, and features new NETMark technology which allows you to chat, compete and compare benchmarks online.
NETMark Technology gives you the ability to easily host a server with up to 256 people able to join and a wealth of additional tools and features to produce the most interesting benchmarking experience ever.
SynthMark XP comes complete with an all new themeable & multi-lingual interface, the Advanced Task Manager 2 to optimize your computers services, chat rooms with support for commands and voting, a stand alone help system called Ask the Xpert, new protected benchmarking file formats and a fantastic interactive result browser system to truly make your benchmarks relative & fun.
Remember that SynthMark XP is a synthetic benchmarking system and tests the speed of your computer not from a hardware point of view, but rather from a software point of view by balancing perfectly with your computers programs and background services. Some of the benchmark even tests the speed of your operating system services to give an operating system efficiency score. All this and a lot more featured in SynthMark XP.
Benchmark versus up to 256 people over the internet & or your network. NETMark technology makes online benchmarking easy, quick, fair & very competitive.

Benchmarking is a word used in many industries today, mostly for determining an average for a specific value. In this case, benchmarking is turning your computers performance in specific areas of processing into a numerical value for overall performance; hence the word ‘average’ in the description of the word. In the rest of this chapter we try give you a little background on benchmarking with other software programs.
Benchmarking programs in general:
The main task of a benchmarking program is to exert maximum pressure on your computers hardware system, by using a software program that demands maximum resources from your hardware. Understand that your computers processor works through what is called time-slices, these at a hardware level are divided into oscillations of a quartz crystal timer. These time-slices determine what megahertz your computer runs at, however as history has shown repeatedly, the number if megahertz your computer runs at is not always proportional to your computers performance.
There are many other factors you have to taking into consideration when determining your computers performance. When you hear of advertisements saying over “25 billion calculations per second” for a processor, many people forget that even moving your mouse takes a few million calculations, and some processors will take fewer time-slices to process mouse movements than others. This is because by nature of design, some processors do more work per Hz than others.
Most benchmarking systems seek to measure the number of calculations per second your CPU can perform, or your CPU’s floating point unit which is mostly responsible for mathematical calculations, and many other aspects of your computer are benchmarked. These benchmarking systems use measurements like MOPS (million operations per second) and other measurements which we believe are out of date, simply because they never indicated the exact performance you actually receive when using your computer for anything, games, word processors, whatever!
NETMark is more than a connectivity system for benchmarkers, it enables all computers including the host (server) to compete freely are most importantly, fairly with any other benchmarkers in the world. Like all connectivity systems, knowing how to use them is vitally important to get onto the web or network quickly and begin benchmarking in as little time as possible.
We created NETMark & InterLAN (internet connection system) with ease of use in mind, no additional ABC-NET programs to install or online registrations, the web and your local network are all at your disposal. The phrase comes to mind, I only want to hear one click!
The NETMark drop down menu contains all you will need & NETMark connectivity explorer panel has almost all the features at your disposal.
